Flexibility and adaptability have slightly distinct meanings, therefore it's a good idea to use separate words when describing them on your resume.

The capacity to modify behavior or circumstances to fit a new setting is known as adaptability.
Flexibility is the capacity to adapt to sudden changes and meet the requirements of others.

For example, a candidate can demonstrate adaptability if they relocate to a different city to begin their employment or flexibility if they alter the day they begin working.

                Adaptability Skills:

                1. Cognitive adaptability: plans, decision making etc.
                2. Personality adaptability: strengths and weaknesses

                     result in different emotions.

                Example of adaptability

Here is an illustration of a software engineer that works for a business that has been acquired:

An entry-level software engineer position is available at an organization. Two months later, the business undergoes a merger and acquisition, which results in a change of management in every area. As a result of the post-merger integration, the individual joins a new team. The worker displays acceptance of the new internal structural alterations and surroundings. The team updates software programs by putting the newest technology to use, which lowers operational costs by 25%.

The engineer has the flexibility to adjust to the demanding workplace conditions at the business.

                Flexibility skills:

                1. handle unexpected problems or tasks
                2. ability to adapt to sudden events and changing expectations

                Example of flexibility

An engineer working on a major project must take on extra work for a week before the inauguration to make up for lost time. The project engineer participates in a compressed work schedule, working four 11-hour days after discussing the circumstances with the line manager. The project engineer efficiently completes all EPIC tasks and meets the deadline.

The Project Engineer shows flexibility on the job.
